Hi, I’m Kathy Bjornestad (also writing as Kate Glass), an award-winning author of speculative/historical fiction and poetry. I like to ask, "What if?" and craft stories that transport readers through time, space, and alternative realities. My poetry, written for all ages, captures the same sense of wonder and warmth that fuels my novels.

A retired teacher and librarian, I now find inspiration in the Black Hills of South Dakota. When I’m not wrangling complex plots (or my family), you can find me hiking in the forest, competing on the pickleball court, or showcasing my work at local craft fairs. I’m a master of managing everyone—and an expert at ignoring them the moment the creative juices start flowing.
